Sobyanin: 187 drones neutralised approaching Moscow; Yaroslavl oil refinery damaged
Drone attacks were recorded towards Moscow and in Yaroslavl on the night of 2–3 November. The Yaroslavl governor said an attack by 124 Ukrainian drones on the oil refinery was repelled and that the refinery's infrastructure was damaged.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 187 drones approaching Moscow had been neutralised since the evening of 2 November.
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said electronic warfare and air defence forces repelled an attack by 124 Ukrainian drones on the oil refinery in Yaroslavl. According to the governor, the refinery's infrastructure was damaged.
The attack also affected Moscow's airports. Vnukovo Airport said that more than 10 aircraft flying to the airport were diverted to other airports because of the restrictions imposed, while passengers who had been held on aircraft at Vnukovo were moved to the terminal. The governor of the Tula Region also said that 38 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the region during the night.
On the same night, the Russian Defence Ministry said the Russian Armed Forces had carried out a massive strike on energy facilities working for military-industrial enterprises in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions. The Ukrainian side said Russia attacked Dnipro again on the morning of 3 November: according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, houses were damaged and there are injured. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, said the number of people injured in the strike on a medical facility in Kharkiv had risen to 62, and that 226 patients were being evacuated to other medical facilities.
The attacks came a few hours after US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced that trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States and Ukraine would be held in Abu Dhabi on 10–11 November.
Massive drone attacks towards Moscow had been recorded before. On 30 October, Sobyanin said that 862 Ukrainian drones had flown towards the Moscow region since the evening of 29 October, 170 of which were shot down as they approached the capital. A day earlier, he said 613 drones had headed towards the Moscow region from the evening of 28 October to the morning of 29 October, 231 of which were shot down near the capital.
The oil refinery in Yaroslavl is one of Russia's largest oil refining facilities and was also targeted by drone attacks in 2026, including in May and August.
