India's Shipping Minister: Indian vessel hit by unidentified aerial object off Oman, one crew member killed
One of the 14 Indian crew members of an Indian cargo dhow was killed, and the Omani Coast Guard rescued the other 13.

India's Shipping Minister said an Indian cargo dhow was hit by an "unidentified aerial object" near the coast of Oman.
According to the minister, the vessel's crew consisted of 14 Indian nationals. One of them was killed, and the Omani Coast Guard rescued the other 13 crew members.
The minister's statement did not say to whom the object that hit the vessel belonged.
A day earlier, on November 2, the British Royal Navy announced that a vessel had been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman. A number of incidents involving tankers and other vessels have been recorded around the Strait of Hormuz in recent days.
On May 13 this year, the Indian-flagged wooden dhow Haji Ali, which was carrying livestock from Somalia to the United Arab Emirates, was also hit by an unidentified explosive object near the coast of Oman, caught fire and sank. Its 12 crew members were rescued at the time by the Omani Coast Guard and taken to Dibba. India's Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Shipping said then that they deplored the fact that commercial shipping and civilian mariners continued to be targeted.
