Witkoff: Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral talks to be held in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States and Ukraine will be held on November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

A senior US official also announced that Washington will hold trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on the 10th and 11th of this month.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia's position has not changed ahead of the talks in Abu Dhabi. Lavrov said: "Our position has not changed, it has never changed since the beginning of the special military operation." He stressed that Russia does not accept Ukraine posing a military threat to Russia's legitimate security interests, nor discrimination against the Russian language and the Russian-speaking population.

On October 21, Vladimir Putin met Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the meeting, which lasted about three hours, was the ninth between Putin and Witkoff, and the sides discussed a framework for resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine.

Ushakov said that at that meeting Putin stated Russia was generally ready to resume these talks around November 10, and noted that the core subject of the talks would be a security system for Russia and Ukraine.

Abu Dhabi also hosted trilateral talks between representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine earlier this year.
