Zelensky: Ukrainian forces hit the Kamensky plant and Russian air defence assets in Rostov region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on November 1 that the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck the Kamensky plant, which is involved in Russian missile production, as well as Russian air defence assets in Rostov region.

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian troops successfully hit a Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft system and a command-and-staff vehicle of the S-400 Triumf system. The total value of the destroyed air defence assets is estimated at about $70 million.

On the same day, the Russian Defence Ministry said Russian armed forces struck a dry cargo ship carrying cargo for the Ukrainian armed forces 16 kilometres from Odesa. The Ukrainian side, for its part, said a Russian attack on Ternopil region hit an energy facility in the Kremenets community, leaving 12 settlements fully or partially without electricity.

Earlier today, Zelensky said that over one week the Russian army had launched 1,940 attack drones, more than 1,580 guided aerial bombs (KABs) and 44 missiles at Ukraine.

The Kamensky plant is a chemical enterprise located in the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in Rostov region. In December 2024, the Russian Defence Ministry said Ukraine had struck the enterprise with ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles.

The Pantsir-S2 is a short-range anti-aircraft missile and gun system. The S-400 Triumf is Russia's long-range surface-to-air missile system.
