Al-Makhaf market hit in southern Taiz: dead and wounded reported, sides blame each other
People have been killed and wounded in a strike on the al-Makhaf market in al-Misrakh district in southern Yemen's Taiz province. The Sanaa side says Saudi Arabia carried out the strike, while the government side says the shell was fired by Ansarullah.

A market in the al-Makhaf area of al-Misrakh district in the south of Yemen's Taiz province has been hit, leaving people killed and wounded.
The Sanaa side said the market of the al-Makhaf area had been targeted by Saudi Arabia. The Sanaa side did not give the number of dead and wounded.
The side close to Yemen's Saudi-backed government, however, claimed that a shell fired by Ansarullah fell on the al-Najd market in the village of al-Makhaf in the al-Aqrud area of al-Misrakh district. According to this side, 25 civilians, including children, were killed or wounded.
Al-Misrakh district has also been hit in recent days. On 24 October, the Sanaa side said four people were killed and five wounded in a Saudi air strike on a house in the al-Aqrud area of al-Misrakh district. On 27 September, seven people were killed and 40 wounded in a strike on a market in Taiz province, according to the Sanaa government's Health Ministry.
Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree said on 1 November that Saudi aircraft had carried out 75 air and missile strikes on Yemen within 24 hours. Fighting is currently under way in Lahij and Taiz provinces between the Yemeni Armed Forces and forces linked to the Saudi coalition.
