Air strikes on Izium in Kharkiv region: one killed, 15 seek medical help

Air strikes on the city of Izium in Ukraine's Kharkiv region on 2 November killed one person, and 15 people sought medical help, the Izium City Military Administration said.

According to the administration, the strikes hit the city's IPZ district, the city centre and the Honcharivka neighbourhood.

In the IPZ district, a five-storey residential building was hit, five neighbouring apartment buildings were damaged, and several passenger cars were destroyed by fire.

In the city centre, a four-storey residential building was hit, six more buildings were damaged, and fire destroyed parked cars.

Two guided aerial bombs (KABs) fell on the Honcharivka neighbourhood, damaging about 20 private houses and two retail outlets.

According to the Ukrainian side, Izium has been attacked repeatedly in recent days: on 26 October a guided bomb strike injured three people, and on 29 October an air strike on the city killed four people.

Izium, located in the south-east of the Kharkiv region, was captured by Russian troops in April 2022 and retaken by the Ukrainian army during its counteroffensive in September of that year.
