Oil tanker struck by two unknown projectiles off Oman
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said an oil tanker's engine room was hit by two unknown projectiles 14 nautical miles north-east of Lima, Oman.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on the evening of November 3 that it had received a report of an incident 14 nautical miles north-east of Lima, Oman.
According to UKMTO, the security officer of an oil tanker reported that the vessel had been targeted by two unknown projectiles. The projectiles hit the tanker's engine room.
The centre noted that there were no reports of casualties or environmental damage from the incident so far. The tanker's name, flag and cargo have not been disclosed.
The incident came amid continuing tension around the Strait of Hormuz. On the morning of November 3, the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said three oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz illegally had caught fire. The same day it was reported that only 6 vessels had passed through the strait in the previous 12 hours, most of them using the corridor designated by Iran.
Also on November 3, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the closure of the Strait of Hormuz had cost Europe an additional 127 billion euros, without a single additional unit of energy reaching Europe in return.
Lima is a village in Oman's Musandam Governorate on the coast of the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO is an organisation linked to the UK's Royal Navy that monitors incidents related to the security of commercial shipping in the region.
