The governor of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region said an industrial facility in the region was damaged in a drone attack overnight into 1 November. Footage circulated from the region's city of Kstovo shows a large fire and thick smoke in the night sky.

Russia's Defence Ministry said air defences shot down 235 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight. The ministry also said Russian forces struck facilities at the Konotop railway station in Sumy region that ensure the delivery of weapons from Ukraine's western regions, and that a vessel carrying cargo for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was hit at sea 69 kilometres from Odesa.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, the Russian army attacked Ukraine overnight with 433 strike drones, of which air defences destroyed 371. Hits were recorded at 16 locations.

The Izium city military administration said Russia struck Izium at about 06:05 local time. According to the administration, the strike hit the Povorotka area and more than 10 houses were damaged.

Kstovo is home to Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez, one of Russia's largest oil refineries. The plant has been attacked by Ukrainian drones several times before; in July 2026 Ukraine's General Staff said the refinery's main crude oil processing unit had been hit.
