Mohsen Rezaei: No new decision has been made in Iran on changing the nuclear doctrine
The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said he has read the letter from US Vice President JD Vance but has not yet replied to it.

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said on 31 October that no new decision has been made in the government on changing the country's nuclear doctrine.
Rezaei said there is a discussion about whether the previous nuclear doctrine would be kept if war breaks out again. "Our people have demands regarding changing the nuclear doctrine," he stressed.
Rezaei also said he had read the letter from US Vice President JD Vance but had not yet replied to it. "Their tone has completely changed, and this is a good sign showing that the Iranian people have consolidated their victory and power," Rezaei said.
"Since they have not put forward anything about the letter, I will not say anything about it at present either," the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council added.
On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Vance's letter had been examined carefully and discussed at high-level meetings. Araghchi also said there was currently no plan to meet US officials.
Mohsen Rezaei served as commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from 1981 to 1997. Iran has officially declared that its nuclear programme is peaceful and that it does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons.
