Iranian Army spokesman: Su-35 fighter jets bought from Russia, to be delivered after the war
Iranian Army spokesman General Akraminia said his country has purchased Su-35 multirole fighter jets from Russia and that the aircraft will be received after the war ends.

Iranian Army spokesman General Akraminia said in an interview on 31 October that Iran has purchased Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighter jets from Russia.
The spokesman said: “We have bought Su-35 jets from Russia. We will receive them after the war.” According to him, deliveries of the aircraft will begin after the war ends. The statement did not specify the number of aircraft or an exact delivery date.
Iranian officials have spoken on the subject before. On 27 January 2025, Ali Shadmani, deputy coordinator of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Iran had bought Russian-made Su-35 fighter jets. At the time, Shadmani did not disclose the number of aircraft or whether they had been delivered.
Earlier, in March 2023, Iranian media reported that Tehran had finalised a deal to purchase Su-35 fighter jets from Russia.
Iran and Russia signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty in Moscow in January 2025. Although the document does not mention arms transfers, the two sides pledged to expand military-technical cooperation.
The Su-35 is a multirole fighter aircraft produced by Russia's Sukhoi company and is in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.
