Zakharova: foreign troops deployed in Ukraine would be a military intervention and legitimate targets
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the deployment of foreign or multinational forces in Ukraine a military intervention and said such forces would be treated as legitimate targets.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on November 7 that Moscow considers the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine a military intervention and will treat them as legitimate targets.
Zakharova said: “The deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine would mean a military intervention and an additional threat to Russia’s security.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry also stressed that the deployment of foreign armed contingents in Ukraine is categorically unacceptable and would de facto amount to a military intervention.
Separately, Zakharova said that the start on November 9 of the “Coalition 26.2” exercises of the “coalition of the willing”, on the eve of talks in Abu Dhabi, confirms that Europeans have nothing to do at the negotiating table.
The “coalition of the willing” is a group of countries led by the United Kingdom and France that discusses security guarantees for Ukraine. In January this year the Russian Foreign Ministry had also warned that Western troops deployed in Ukraine would be considered legitimate targets.
