Iran's ambassador in Moscow: Rezaei told Putin the basic condition for diplomacy is US acceptance of Iran's 7 conditions

Iran's ambassador in Moscow, Kazem Jalali, said on 7 November that the meeting between Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei and Russian President Vladimir Putin lasted three hours and discussed strategic cooperation between the two countries.

According to the ambassador, Tehran's positions were explained regarding the United States' reneging on its commitments and the futility of direct negotiations without obtaining guarantees.

Jalali said Rezaei explained to Putin that the basic condition for any diplomatic move is the full and unconditional acceptance by the United States of Iran's seven conditions.

According to the ambassador, General Rezaei stressed that holding negotiations will not be a basis for ending the war, as experience has proven that Washington uses the path of dialogue for aggression.

Jalali added that Iran's firm logic, based on the futility of negotiations alone and the necessity of implementing the strategic conditions, was accepted and understood by the Russian side. The ambassador said Russia supports the position that the International Atomic Energy Agency treats Iran with discriminatory behaviour that is outside the rules.

Earlier the same day, Mohsen Rezaei, addressing US officials on social media, said they had “lost both the war and the election” and that if they started a war they would face a devastating response.

Iran and Russia signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty in Moscow in January 2025.
