Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on October 30.

The meeting took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara and was closed to the press. No information was given about the issues discussed.

The reception was held within the framework of the 13th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held under the motto “Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Action”. Erdoğan continued his bilateral meetings after the summit.

At the summit, Türkiye took over the OTS chairmanship from Azerbaijan. In his speech, Erdoğan said: “I state that we support the contacts our Azerbaijani brothers are holding with Armenia, and that we will continue to contribute all we can to lasting peace.”

Azerbaijan assumed the OTS chairmanship at the 12th Summit held in Gabala in October 2025. Founded in 2009 under the Nakhchivan Agreement as the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, the organization was renamed the Organization of Turkic States in 2021. Its members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
