Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on the evening of October 30, after which power went out in some districts of the city. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a critical infrastructure facility had been hit.

An air-raid alert over the threat of drones was declared in Kyiv at 21:42 Kyiv time and lifted at 21:51. Afterwards, power was reported to have gone out in part of the city following explosions. Klitschko announced that a critical infrastructure facility had been hit and said emergency services were heading to the scene.

At 22:21 a new air-raid alert over the threat of drones was declared in the capital and lifted at 22:35. No official information has yet been released on the type of facility hit, the damage caused or whether anyone was injured.

On the same day, the railway station and a passenger train in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro were struck for the second time in a row. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on October 30 that Ukrainian drones had attacked three Russian oil refineries and a gas chemical complex.

Since October 2022 Russia has repeatedly carried out missile and drone strikes on Ukraine's energy and other critical infrastructure; these strikes have caused interruptions to electricity and water supplies in many cities, including Kyiv.
