Erdogan: The Gaza Peace Agreement that Türkiye helped bring about is not being implemented

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech on November 6 that the Gaza Peace Agreement, to whose signing Türkiye also contributed, is not being implemented.

“Unfortunately, the Gaza Peace Agreement, to whose signing we also contributed, is not being implemented. The principle of ‘pacta sunt servanda’, the foundation of international relations, cannot be put into practice. Everyone must understand that no problem can be solved this way,” Erdogan said.

The Turkish president stressed that the greatest genocide of modern times had taken place in Gaza. According to him, hospitals today face shortages of fuel and equipment, while the entry of humanitarian aid is still being blocked.

Erdogan also addressed the situation in the West Bank: “Settler terror, which aims to forcibly expel Palestinians from the homeland they have lived on for centuries, is growing more reckless every day under the indifferent gaze of the modern world.”

He also said: “Those who turn into lions when it comes to Türkiye, you see, immediately turn into paper tigers when the matter is the genocide network.” Erdogan added: “As Türkiye, we have put not only our hand but our whole body, our heart and soul on the line for building a more just and free world.”

The peace document on Gaza was signed on October 13, 2025, at a summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh. It was signed by the leaders of the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye; since then Türkiye has acted as one of the mediator and guarantor countries of the agreement.
